This allows interaction between the ROS ecosystem and the ROS driver of the robot. Our first goal was to create a set of common messages containing the necessary parameters for setting Impedance and Force control. The external forces that the robot applies to the environment can also be set with the developed interface. This summer, Risto Kojcev, sponsored by the Google Summer of Code (GSOC) and directed by the Open Source Robotics Foundation (OSRF) and the ROS-Industrial (ROS-I) Consortium developed a user friendly ROS Interface to control and change a manipulator into Cartesian Impedance control mode. As an open source project we invite you to propose or contribute new features as well.įuture updates will contain even more Tango features such as area learning (SLAM) and 3D reconstruction. The application has been developed in close cooperation with Ekumen and Google. More information can be found on the ROS wiki page. The app and code are freely available for download in the Play Store and Github.

This Android app for Tango compatible devices provides real-time 3D pose estimates using Tango's visual-inertial odometry (VIO) algorithms, camera images and point clouds into the ROS ecosystem.
